This may Hurt but there is hope (if and only if you understand).
Why don’t many people who call themselves Ambedkarites not feel awkward, not thinking about ANNIHILATING their own “forced” caste identities?
We all know this but why is it ignored by most? Dr. Ambedkar’s dream was “Annihilation of Caste”
Individuals can ONLY annihilate their OWN caste identities.
That’s what is meant by annihilation of caste. We all can individually annihilate the belief we have of belonging to a caste. We cannot annihilate the other person’s caste for them. Only they can do that.
Let’s start annihilation of caste by shedding our own caste identities first.
Any opposition to this is just an excuse not to annihilate caste. Such people can NEVER end, but only dream of ending caste discrimination and will continue to contribute to maintaining status quo proving, “India is nothing but a land of caste wars.”
This is a given..(This is understood and guaranteed)
The only way you are going to defeat Brahminism is by first shedding your own caste identities and leaving the Hindu-fold. Then encourage others to do the same.
Do think about this seriously, otherwise you may just be fighting an already lost battle.
Please read this very short article, especially if you are a proud Ambedkarite and let’s take things a step at a time.
Try this exercise. It may open your eyes..
Close your eyes for 5-10 minutes.
1. Think of ANY particular person (you, your loved one, your enemy, any politician, entrepreneur, social activist, ANYONE, your teacher, the temple priest..)
2. Imagine them getting up in the morning and forgetting they ever had a caste. No matter how hard they try, they cannot find any clue as to what caste they are.
HOW WOULD THEIR BEHAVIOR CHANGE?
3. Now imagine if the only thing that every Indian forgot was their caste, IN WHAT WAYS WILL INDIA CHANGE (Politically, Economically, Socially, Educationally, legally..)?.
Now, do you see that the ROOT CAUSE of all problems in India is a belief in caste identity?. If there were no castes, there couldn’t be caste based discrimination /atrocities. Politicians would think about real political issues, judiciary will automatically pass better judgements, media news reporting would AUTOMATICALLY improve, there would be no caste based political parties. Most politicians would be lost, not knowing why they are in politics. India could then BEGIN to flourish. This scenario will not remain a dream IF caste is annihilated. It’s a natural progression in a new casteless society and is AUTOMATIC. We have to start thinking about this. The sooner the better, well before India is doomed. Let’s start with us.

A LITTLE ABOUT SURNAMES..
Those who want annihilation of caste must also wipe out CASTE BASED surnames from their name.
Only because surnames are now universally accepted as a norm internationally, I don’t think there is a necessity to abolish them completely. It may cause some inconvenience but all casteless persons should at-least change their surnames to non-caste based surnames. Better still, completely get rid of them. Even Dr. Ambedkar was in favour of, and suggested, change of surname on leaving the Hindu fold. Surnames in the Indian context are almost purely caste based in most cases.
Surname change is not a problem at all. It’s done simply by virtue of an affidavit sworn before an executive magistrate. If required, produce a copy of that wherever required. It’s just the “will to do” that matters in most cases.
