Before this question is answered, it is essential to define /understand the term ‘Hinduism ‘ You are ssuming that the reader understands your definition of the term ‘Hinduism’. What exactly do you mean by Hinduism ?
The RSS and other Brahmin and non- Brahmin scholars have rightly, publicly declared that there is no such religion called Hinduism.
You may mean that Hinduism is a way of life of a Hindu, a person from a land callef Hindustan, Well, in this case I have big news for you.. There is no country called Hindustan anymore. It is Now called India and a few other countries. Referring to India as any other name other than Bharat is anti-constitutional. Hindustan officialy ceased to exist at the inception of the Indian constitution and split into Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal etc. If Hinduism was a way life of the citizens of Hindustan then; Hinduism must now be redefined as Pakistanism, Indianism, Banglaism, Nepalism etc
Since there is no Hindustan there can’t be it’s citizens called Hindus and therefore no religion called Hinduism followed by the so- called Hindus. WHAT MOST PEOPLE COMMONLY REFER TO AS HINDUISM IS REALLY BRAHMINISM
Your question, in this case, should be rephrased with :
either
“Why does Brahminism have many gods ?”
Or
“Why does Indianism have many gods ?”
