Buddha Sāsanassa Paṭisandhāna Divasa;

(बुद्ध सासनस्स पटिसंधान दिवस).. also known as Dhamma Dīksha Diwas, falls on 14th October each year and marks the day when Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar embraced Buddhism at a historic ceremony held in Nagpur, India, in 1956.

This day marks the beginning of the Indian Buddhist Revival Movement, setting in motion the wheel of Dhamma once again on Indian soil. To ensure its continuity in its original and most authentic form, he also administered his now-famous 22 vows to over half a million Buddhists. Thus initiating a Dhamma revolution in India for the reconstruction of society based on the principles of Prajna (wisdom), Karuna (compassion), and Samata (equality).
