Thames Valley Police (UK) have arrested a man in relation to a video posted on social media where extreme casteist language was used against the ex-untouchable communities from India.
Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar said, ” Caste may lead to conduct so gross as to be called man”s inhumanity to man.”
“I shall be satisfied if I make the Hindus realise that they are the sick men of India, and that their sickness is causing danger to the health and happiness of other Indians.”
Today this sickness has spread like a virus across the globe and “polluting” other religious and non-religious communities too.
In 2018, the UK government backtracked on a promise to include caste as a specific category of discrimination in the Equality Act of 201, arguing there was no need to legally distinguish between race and caste.
“This grey area has been created by the Hindu lobby,” argues Sat Pal Muman, chairman of anti-caste discrimination campaign Castewatch UK.
Satpal Muman says there is an attempt by far-right Hindus to obscure the fight against cast discrimination by claming it is ‘anti-Hindu.’
“Groups opposing legislation here in the UK have connections with the Hindutva agenda of the Indian government. The very mention of caste puts them under the spotlight. They go on the offensive and accuse you of attacking their religion…but it’s a conversation that needs to be had.”
While the theological underpinnings of caste in Hinduism cannot be ignored, he says the focus of his campaign is based on the “the fact that people are being discriminated against. This is about human rights — not a specific religious group.”
The government did this to appease politically active Hindus and garner votes.

I write to you to make you aware of Caste based hatred video that is circulating on social media which is causing hurt, insult and offence to the ‘Dalit’ Community living in Britain. Furthermore, due its wider social media reach this video is also causing hurt and offence to the wider community in general.
We are requesting the originator of the video Mr Amrik Singh Bajwa to be arrested immediately for spreading caste-based hatred and for targeting the specific ‘Dalit’ Community in Britain. The caste oriented sexually objectional video content is damaging community relations especially affecting the wider ethnic communities.
The video is in Punjabi which can be forwarded to your office upon request. I have translated the Punjabi into English as spoken by the offender and share the transcript as below.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the strong vulgar and sexually explicit language used in the video as referenced which will most likely offend anyone’s decency.
No sane person can utter this kind of language in the public realm let alone share on social media. The language used is indicative of the contemptible and degraded state ‘Dalits’ are held in and is not untypical of the attitude held by those belonging to the caste as claimed by the offender.
Expressions of hatred towards anyone on basis of colour, race, religion, ethnicity, caste etc is unacceptable in Britain. Under the guise of caste to hurl abuse at an individual is bad enough but Mr Amkrik Singh Bajwa deliberately targets the whole Dalit community whose numbers in Britain are in hundreds of thousands!
The spread of Caste based hatred and abuse must be stopped immediately by arresting Amrik Singh Bajwa!
Please let me know what action the Police will take to arrest Mr Amrik Singh Bajwa so that we can inform the affected communities on the progress the police will be making.

Man charged with sending an offensive message- Slough
Following a Thames Valley Police investigation a man had been charged with sending an offensive message.
Amrik Bajwa, aged 68, of Bowyer Drive, Slough has been charged with one count of sending by public communication network an offensive/indecent/obscene/menacing message/matter.
It is in connection with a video that was posted on Tik Tok on 19 July last year.
Bajwa is due to appear at Slough Magistrates’ Court on 4 April.

A police statement says the 67-year-old from Slough has been released on police bail until August 18. The force put out the following: “Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred and malicious communications.
“The 67-year-old from Slough has been released on police bail until August 18. His arrest is in relation to a video posted on social media where discriminatory language was used against specific communities.”

Man sentenced for posting casteist offensive message online
A man has been given 18 weeks custodial sentence after posting casteist offensive message on social media.
He was arrested following a Thames Valley Police investigation and was charged with an offence contrary to section 127(1)(a) and (3) of the Communications Act 2003 for sending an offensive/indecent/obscene/menacing message/matter.
Mr Amrik Singh Bajwa posted the grossly offensive message on Tik Tok on 19 July last year. The post deliberately targeted the so called ‘Chamaar’ and ‘Choohra’ communities [described as Dalit] hurling sexual abuse, obscenities with threats of rape. In the Tik Tok message, Mr Bajwa also glorified the socalled ‘Jat’ community for sexually abusing Dalit women in Indian villages as a matter of pride.
Members of Bhagwan Valmik Sabha, Southall, Shri Guru Ravidas Sabha (UK and Europe), Shri Guru Ravidas Sabha, Gravesend , Sikh Federation were present outside Slough Magistrates Court during the court proceedings.
This matter first went to the Crown Prosecution Service for a charging decision but was subsequently escalated to the Attorney General for a final decision. It is perhaps the first case of its kind in the UK where Caste based slurs and sexual hate speech has been prosecuted.
A spokesperson for Caste Watch UK said ‘It was criminally reckless for Mr Amrik Singh Bajwa to post this casteist material online for others to view. It shows the contempt of one caste group for another caste group, a practice familiar in countries like India and shows signs of replication in Britain. His criminal conviction will send a strong message that such caste hate speech and abuse will not be tolerated in Britain’.
